Project TARAS

This week has set a good momentum for the hardware side of the project. We have collected the following items from the previous EPICS team :

• 1. SIM 908
• 2. RS 232 to TTL Convertor
• 3. MMA 7361 Accelerometer
• 4. Arduino AT mega


Apart from this we will also be requiring a Bluetooth module to connect our microcontroller to a mobile, we will be placing an order for the same soon.

I had conducted a workshop on IOT for ECE association on 6th to 7th February, this had helped me to refresh my concepts in Arduino and hardware management with the internet. I will begin to test the hardware and its calibration the following week. Vivek has emailed a couple of companies and vendors to attain collaboration and support.

During the last epics meeting, DVSS Sarma Sir and Karthik Sir had asked us to finalise the purchases before the end of February as it is closing to financial break. They had also asked us to only find vendors who has a Tin no. (Tax Information Network) ie vendors registered with the government of India and pays taxes.

We have divided the work for this weekend (14th Feb ) as follows:
• 1. Map view development (Rishabh)
• 2. Clean NHAI data (Aneesh)
• 3. Clean Warangal data (Vivek)
• 4. Hardware requirements (if any) and a prototype plan- (Sreerag)
Apart from the above, We also planned to meet up with some mechanical professors to discuss about accident detection methods commonly used.
